ADULT LEARNERS FORUM
Established in March 2020, the Adult Learners Forum began its life as a closed Facebook Group. Set up during the first UK Coronavirus lockdown, the group was established in order to provide a safe and welcoming environment for Dawson Music’s adult learners and their friends to stay connected during the pandemic.
To this day the Facebook Group continues, with 30 members regularly engaging in vibrant musical discussion on a variety of topics, as well as sharing photos and videos of their of musical experiences.
The Forum currently meets in person three times a year, with members attending as performers or observers. The aim of the gatherings is to provide a safe and supportive environment for adult learners to gain performance experience. The current schedule is as follows,
Spring - Performances around a set theme, past themes include the music of James Bond.
Autumn - Big Jam, an opportunity to play as part of a large mixed instrument ensemble.
Winter - Christmas Soiree, seasonal repertoire.
